Our home patch. Based in Wickford, we know every estate, every cut-through and every street where a skip won't fit.
Wickford was a farming village until the railway arrived in 1889, and its housing is largely twentieth-century suburban estates around a compact centre. Shotgate, on the eastern side, began as plotland on Enfield Road and Oak Avenue and gained further estates in 1989. Runwell, to the north, includes St Luke's Park, around 580 homes on the former Runwell Hospital site. Gateway House on Runwell Road added 122 one and two-bedroom flats in 2026. Where a house has a drive, bulky items load directly; flats mean stairs, lifts and shared entrances.
Pitsea Recycling Centre accepts electricals. Every visit has to be booked in advance, cars included. Vans, pick-ups and trailers are accepted there with a booking. A small fridge in the back of the car is possible; a fridge-freezer or American-style unit usually isn't.
Some roads here are unmade; the smaller collection truck handles them where a loaded skip lorry can't.
We're based in Wickford, and most of our team live within ten minutes of any Wickford booking. Same-day, often same-hour, is the norm here for wait and load and clearances. Item collections come on our Tuesday and Thursday rounds, and skips, skip bags and the grab from the next working day.
