Industry is grouped on the eastern side near the A12 at Freebournes Industrial Estate, Eastways Industrial Estate and Crittall Road, with Waterside Business Park at Eastways; Freebournes Road connects to Colchester Road for the A12. The centre yields cardboard, food waste and glass, and the industrial estates pallets, packaging, metal and manufacturing waste.
