Rubbish clearance & skip hire in Epping

Epping is a market town at the end of the Central line, strung along a single High Street and hemmed in by Epping Forest and green belt. It has no recycling centre of its own: Waltham Abbey's is the closest but takes cars only and no DIY waste, so van loads and rubble have to go to Harlow.

Essex Highways issues skip licences here, not the district council. A skip on your drive needs nothing; on the road it needs a licence, and we apply for you. Allow 10 working days. Size limit on the road: 6-yard maximum on the highway; anything bigger needs a driveway or private land. Enquire online and we'll confirm the permit price and timing for your street before you book. Epping at a glance

Homes

Epping's housing ranges from cottages and Victorian villas to inter-war and post-war semi-detached houses and council-built homes. Hemnall Street was developed in the early nineteenth century, Station Road is a residential area beside the Underground terminus, and Coopersale, separated from the town by forest land, and Ivy Chimneys are residential areas in their own right. The High Street and Bell Common are conservation areas. Residents' permit parking operates in parts of the town, so a clearance vehicle may need a space arranged in advance.

Building work

Epping's main development sites are in the town centre, where five linked schemes around St John's Road, Cottis Lane and Bakers Lane were approved together, providing a leisure centre, a multi-storey car park, commercial units and 269 homes. To the south, the South Epping masterplan area is allocated for at least 450 homes and a primary school. The Epping conservation area, designated in 1969, covers the High Street and holds 32 listed buildings, and Bell Common and Coopersale Street are protected too. Extensions and loft conversions are common in the inter-war semi-detached houses.

Businesses

Epping High Street, the B1393, carries the town's shops, pubs and restaurants, and a market dating from 1253 is held there every Monday. Bower Hill Industrial Estate provides workshop and trade units, and the Cottis Lane and Bakers Lane sites behind the High Street are being redeveloped with new commercial space. Hospitality businesses generate food waste, glass and cardboard, while the industrial estate produces trade and packaging waste. The High Street is a through route within a conservation area, so loading has to fit around traffic, parking bays and market stalls.
