Garage Clearance in Pitsea

Garage Clearance in Pitsea: what to know

Pitsea sits next to our home patch, and we cover it weekly. Domestic, commercial, builder's waste, the lot.

Pitsea began as plotland in the 1920s and 1930s, when buyers built on individual plots with little infrastructure, and was rebuilt from the 1960s as part of Basildon new town. Its planned neighbourhoods are Chalvedon, Eversley, Felmores, also known as Northlands Park, and Pitsea Mount. Felmores was built with pavement-only frontages, and regeneration plans there aim to add conventional streets. By the station, the Station Lane scheme completed in 2012 put 121 flats above shops. Footpath-fronted houses and upper-floor flats both involve carrying bulky items some way to a vehicle.

On the industrial estates we can get the larger vehicles in, which keeps the price per tonne down for heavy or bulky loads. Paint, tyres and old fridges get their own lines in the estimate because each goes to a different licensed facility.

Taking it yourself means Pitsea Recycling Centre. Every visit has to be booked in advance, cars included. Vans, pick-ups and trailers are accepted there with a booking. Most garages are several car loads, which is where one collection wins.

Fifteen minutes from Wickford. Wait and load and clearances are often a same-hour callout if you book in the morning. Item collections come on our Tuesday and Thursday rounds, and skips, skip bags and the grab from the next working day.
