Wait & Load in Epping: what to know
Epping is a market town at the end of the Central line, strung along a single High Street and hemmed in by Epping Forest and green belt. It has no recycling centre of its own: Waltham Abbey's is the closest but takes cars only and no DIY waste, so van loads and rubble have to go to Harlow.
Epping's main development sites are in the town centre, where five linked schemes around St John's Road, Cottis Lane and Bakers Lane were approved together, providing a leisure centre, a multi-storey car park, commercial units and 269 homes. To the south, the South Epping masterplan area is allocated for at least 450 homes and a primary school. The Epping conservation area, designated in 1969, covers the High Street and holds 32 listed buildings, and Bell Common and Coopersale Street are protected too. Extensions and loft conversions are common in the inter-war semi-detached houses.
On Epping's terraced streets there's rarely a drive to stand a skip on, which is the usual reason for booking wait and load: the truck stops in the road, you load it, and it goes. There is no skip left behind, so no skip permit to arrange. Tell us about any parking or loading restrictions so we can check where the truck will stop.

Wait & Load in Epping: your questions
What's the difference between wait and load and a skip in Epping?
A skip stays while waste builds up and, on the public road in Epping, needs a permit from Essex County Council. Wait and load is for waste ready to collect: you load the truck with our driver's help during the waiting time you book. No skip is left behind, but the truck needs a legal place to stop.
Who loads the truck on a wait and load in Epping?
You and your helpers, with our driver lending a hand. The truck waits up to 15 minutes for a quarter load and 60 for a full truck, so have the waste ready before it arrives. If you'd rather we did the lifting, book a man and van collection instead, priced per item, or ask for a free rubbish clearance estimate.
Can you do wait and load in Epping today?
Normally the next working day. Epping is a 45-minute run from our yard via the A127, M25 and M11 to junction 7, then B1393, so we put Epping jobs onto a booked run and text you the arrival window.
