How we price demolition →Demolition in Harlow: what to know
Harlow is a post-war New Town laid out in neighbourhoods separated by green wedges, with a lot of terraced housing served by footpaths and garage courts, blocks of flats, and newer districts at Church Langley and Newhall. Industry and trade premises are concentrated at Templefields and the Pinnacles.
Harlow has major growth planned through the Harlow and Gilston Garden Town, which extends the town on several sides, alongside continued building at Newhall between Old Harlow and Church Langley. The town centre is being rebuilt in phases, with Broad Walk, Cross Street and East Walk repaved and Market Square redesigned. New town terraces are regularly extended and refitted. Ten conservation areas, including Old Harlow, Churchgate Street and Mark Hall North, bring tighter controls, and estates laid out around footpaths can make it hard to position a skip close to the property.
For flats we carry everything down ourselves, and we check the lift, the stairs and where the truck can stop when you book. Send photos of the structure and the access and we'll send a free estimate for demolition, loading and disposal. If the job turns out different on the day, with more to take down or harder access than described, we agree any change with you before we start.
Domestic outbuildings rarely need permission, but check with Harlow Council if the building is listed, in a conservation area or attached to a neighbour's wall. Asbestos cement roofs are removed first by a licensed contractor.
