Waste oil collection in Harlow: what to know

Harlow is a post-war New Town laid out in neighbourhoods separated by green wedges, with a lot of terraced housing served by footpaths and garage courts, blocks of flats, and newer districts at Church Langley and Newhall. Industry and trade premises are concentrated at Templefields and the Pinnacles.

Harlow's town centre is a pedestrian precinct built around the Harvey Centre, Broad Walk, the Water Gardens and Market Square, with neighbourhood centres at The Stow, Bush Fair and Staple Tye. Retail warehouses line Edinburgh Way, including the Queensgate Centre. Industry is concentrated at Templefields and The Pinnacles, and the enterprise zone covers Kao Park and Harlow Science Park on London Road. Waste ranges from retail packaging and food to pallets, plastics and manufacturing offcuts. In the precincts, collections cannot be made from the shopfront and have to use service access.

We collect from Old Harlow, Church Langley and Potter Street and everywhere else in CM17, CM18, CM19, CM20. As Harlow is about 45 minutes from our Wickford yard, oil collections go onto a planned run, normally within the week.

Typical Harlow jobs. Flat and maisonette clearances where vehicles cannot park at the door; garage and shed clear-outs on the New Town estates; unit and warehouse clearances at Templefields and the Pinnacles.

“Great friendly service from LM waste. They used a small iveco truck with hiab to remove 4 x 1 tonne bulk bags of soil and rubble from outside my house. The access road is unmade, narrow and unsuitable for the usual large skip/ grab lorry. I will be using them again. Thanks very much.”

“Very good service. We had a big pile of timber panels from old sheds. They picked them all up and left the place tidy.”
