Roughly how much?
Where is it now?

Tell us the floor: it affects the price.

Is there a lift?

Rubbish removal in Burnham-on-Crouch: what to know

Burnham-on-Crouch is a riverside sailing town near the end of the Dengie peninsula, reached only by the B1010 and B1021, with a historic High Street and Quay and newer housing off Maldon Road and Southminster Road. Its recycling centre opens four days a week and does not accept vans.

Burnham-on-Crouch has an old core along the High Street and the Quay, protected as a conservation area that runs from the River Crouch up Chapel Road and includes properties on Station Road. An Article 4 Direction of 2009 covers unlisted houses in the High Street, Chapel Road, Silver Road, Station Road and Providence. Newer housing lies off Maldon Road, including Corinthian Place and the bungalows of the Burnham Waters retirement village, with the hamlets of Creeksea and Ostend to the west. In the older streets, bulky items are generally carried out to the road.

Roads near the front carry parking restrictions and get busy in summer, so we book those collections for early in the day. Plenty of Burnham-on-Crouch jobs are only a handful of items and bags: for those, price it yourself and book online. Bigger clear-outs with help on hand often go as wait and load.

Maldon District Council empties the grey bin every two weeks with the lid closed. Bags, sacks and items left alongside the bins aren't collected, and homes on sacks can put out four at most. Anything that can't go out with the rubbish, we can clear from Burnham-on-Crouch in one visit. The council's bin rules.

Maldon District Council recorded 383 fly-tipping incidents in 2024/25, up from 364 the year before, by the government's own figures. It can fine a household £600 for giving waste to someone who isn't licensed to carry it. Our waste carrier number is CB/DU308513, on the Environment Agency's public register.
